Deep down inside each of us, is the secret desire to live in a country house, nestled in amongst wineries, a river, a lake and a gorgeous country town. Well, we've found that very place and we're going to show you how to renovate this old girl to bring her back to life.
Award winning television host and home expert, Walt Collins, embarks on an extraordinary journey as he renovates this old farmstead into a modern country mansion, fit for a King! It is no easy task wrangling a regional property-renovation for starters. Throw in a global pandemic, materials shortages, trade shortages, riots, earthquakes and living IN the renovation- it makes for a raw, emotional and uplifting television special.
Walt takes us through his personal journey, renovating his own home and navigating termite infestations, design details and all the drama that renovating in a regional area brings.
Walt Collins is a regular on Australian television in the weekend lifestyle space, co-hosting all 10 seasons of Channel 10's long running lifestyle show Healthy Homes Australia. On top of that, he's the front man of Channel 10's hit show on house and land, Buy to Build. So when it comes to homes, there's not much he's not afraid to take on.
The property is located just near Rochester, in regional Victoria and was purchased just as the regional property boom, post pandemic, started to grow.
Join us for a Healthy Homes Australia, three part special. Starts May 28th, 2022 on Channel 10.
The show's theme song is by an up and coming country artist called Oscar Litchfield, titled Call Me Up.
Why Annie's Farmhouse?
Annie's Farmhouse is named after Walt's mum, Anne, a single parent, who dreamed of one day owning a home like this. So, with gratitude for his upbringing, Walt named the house after her!
Walt's sister from another mister and TV wife, friend and mentor is Dani Reilly. Her company Manna Made was engaged for interior design. Helping to create a modern country, fun and vibrant home.
In a small farming hamlet called Corop, just outside of Rochester in regional Victoria is an area surrounded by wineries, lakes, wildlife and vast open spaces.
An hour and a half north of Melbourne Airport.
